  • Accel Atoms AI and Atoms X Tracks Open with USD 1M Funding for Indian-Origin Founders

    Accel Atoms

Bengaluru: Global venture capital firm Accel has unveiled two new tracks under its pre-seed program, Accel Atoms – a bold move to empower Indian and Indian-origin founders with breakthrough potential in AI and LeapTech.

The newly launched Accel Atoms AI and Accel Atoms X programs will provide selected startups with up to $1 million in funding, perks worth over $5 million, and personalized mentorship from Accel’s global network.

With applications open year-round, Accel Atoms now offers a frictionless, founder-first experience to help early-stage startups go from idea to execution with fewer barriers and stronger support.

    Supporting AI Innovation Across Borders

The Accel Atoms AI track is designed for startups building across the AI stack – from foundational models and infrastructure to GenAI applications. Led by Prayank Swaroop, Anand Daniel, and Anagh Prasad, the program targets globally ambitious Indian-origin founders, including those based in the US, Europe, and Southeast Asia.

“AI is borderless, but execution isn’t,” said Prayank Swaroop, Partner at Accel. “Founders today are going global earlier. Through Accel Atoms, we’re equipping them with the funding, infrastructure, and mentorship needed to scale without being limited by geography.”

Accel highlights the growing global impact of Indian-origin founders in AI, citing early successes like Ema and Bridgetown Research. Selected startups in this track receive up to $1 million in funding and exclusive access to a tailored ecosystem of AI talent, tools, and go-to-market expertise.

Backing LeapTech Through Accel Atoms X

Accel Atoms X focuses on high-conviction, long-horizon LeapTech startups – defined by Accel as technologies that redefine industries through novel products or models. Led by Pratik Agarwal, this track is for mission-driven founders tackling hard problems with innovative approaches that often require non-linear thinking and long gestation periods.

“LeapTech ideas may take years to mature, but their impact is profound,” said Agarwal. “With Atoms X, we’re offering early conviction, not just capital. Whether you’re pre-product or pre-revenue, we’ll support you from day zero with deep R&D and commercialization insights.”

    A Legacy of Early-Stage Excellence

Launched in 2021, Accel Atoms has already backed 40+ startups, many of which have gone on to raise follow-on rounds and build category-defining businesses. With Atoms AI and Atoms X, Accel strengthens its commitment to founders in their 0-to-1 journey with sharper vertical focus and increased conviction capital.

Applications for both tracks are now open year-round, with a streamlined application process that avoids long forms or Zoom calls. Interested founders can apply at atoms.accel.com.
